Part identification and compatibility

A manufacturer’s part number identifies a component. A diagram callout identifies its position in an assembly illustration, while a seller’s stock code identifies an inventory entry. Revision letters form part of the identifier. A similar appearance or a shared model name does not establish interchangeability.[1]

Fitment depends on the applicable body style, engine and gearbox codes, production or chassis-number limits, market, steering side, and equipment. A supplier’s name or an OEM label alone does not establish factory fitment.
